Patricia Cuffie-Jones, a graduate of Mergenthaler (Mervo) Vocational High School in Baltimore City, continues to make her mark in Hollywood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hardworking CEO of Diverge Entertainment, Cuffie-Jones, is responsible for several comedies and dramas that have appeared on Netflix, Amazon, iTunes, Bounce TV, and various streaming platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a live interview with the National Newspaper Publishers Association\u2019s morning news show, \u201cLet It Be Known,\u201d<\/a> Cuffie-Jones explained that she just wrapped on directing her first feature film, \u201cTwice Bitten,\u201d scheduled for a fall release and the second season of \u201cStuck With You,\u201d a hit that\u2019s streaming on the ALLBLK network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BET recently premiered another one of Cuffie-Jones\u2019 hits, \u201cFavorite Son.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI also just wrapped a Christmas film that I\u2019m hoping makes it out this holiday season, if not next,\u201d Cuffie-Jones told the Baltimore Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are a lot of cool things in the mix and in the works right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born and raised in Baltimore, Cuffie-Jones began writing, directing, and producing at age 14. She has worked behind the scenes with a series of touring productions in the Baltimore\/Washington area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With her husband, Jeffrey Jones, she started Diverge Entertainment and moved to Los Angeles. Once in La La Land, Cuffie-Jones hit the ground running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She created acclaimed period pieces that span from the 1930s to the 1970s and earned five NAACP theatre award nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI take breaks. My husband and kids make sure of that,\u201d Cuffie-Jones asserted. Still, those breaks often are short-lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI just wrapped a film now and will have some weeks to get some writing done,\u201d she noted. \u201cThen, I\u2019ll be going back into production with another film.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuffie-Jones insists that she writes at her pace, allowing for family time which she calls vital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBalance is very important,\u201d Cuffie-Jones demanded. \u201cThe industry is fleeting. Family is forever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuffie-Jones also reasserts that the glamour and glitz of show business count as a small part of life in the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I first started, I had a 9-to-5 job which I used the money earned there to pay for my shows. I worked for a nonprofit that I loved, but my evenings and weekends were a mixture of rehearsals and writing,\u201d Cuffie-Jones recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of work that goes into this. A lot of hard work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuffie-Jones reiterated what she told the Baltimore Times in a 2016 interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said the company provides her with an opportunity to \u201cgreen light\u201d herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou hear a lot of \u2018no,\u2019 \u2018no,\u2019 and \u2018no.\u2019 out here. So, I decided I was going to tell myself \u2018yes\u2019, \u2018yes\u2019 and \u2018yes\u2019 and sell myself,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have built many relationships working with many producers and directors. However, the biggest thing that helped me was sowing seeds with other writers and producers. It\u2019s truly been a blessing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of the pandemic, Cuffie-Jones said she hasn\u2019t been able to return to Baltimore as often as she\u2019d like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, her parents and most of her family still live in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFortunately, they\u2019ve been able to come out and visit, but I\u2019d like to get back to Baltimore,\u201d Cuffie-Jones remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the talented filmmaker has a lot in store for those seeking good entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPatricia continues to push the envelope and partners with other producers looking<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to elevate and diversify storytelling,\u201d Cuffie-Jones\u2019 management wrote in a news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe embraces the concept of conscious entertainment and seeks out opportunities that can expand her stories, of love, family, romance, faith, and resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuffie-Jones said she\u2019s driven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m a worker and a hustler,\u201d she insisted. \u201cI\u2019ve been doing this a long time, and I\u2019m good at finding my rhythm.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
