Keke first received great acclaim when she starred as the title character in the sleeper hit \u201cAkeelah and the Bee,\u201d opposite actor Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keke followed that powerful performance with lead roles in \u201cThe Longshots,\u201d \u201cShrink\u201d and \u201cJoyful Noise.\u201d She\u2019s also made memorable appearances in such films as \u201cBarbershop 2: Back in Business,\u201d \u201cCleaner\u201d and \u201cMadea\u2019s Family Reunion,\u201d as well as voiceover work in animated features like \u201cIce Age: Continental Drift,\u201d \u201cWinx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom\u201d and \u201cUnstable Fables: Tortoise vs. Hare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keke will next be starring in the horror thriller \u201cAnimal,\u201d directed by Brett Simmons, which is set to release in the spring of 2014. On TV, Keke played the title character on the hit Nickelodeon series \u201cTrue Jackson VP,\u201d and received four NAACP Awards for \u201cBest Actress in Children\u2019s Television.\u201d Her other television credits include \u201c90210,\u201d \u201cCold Case,\u201d \u201cLaw &amp; Order: SVU,\u201d and \u201cER,\u201d to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2012, she produced and starred in her first made for TV movie entitled \u201cRags,\u201d which aired on Nickelodeon. Earlier this year, she handled another title role in the Lifetime made-for-TV movie, \u201cThe Carlina White Story.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keke is currently starring in the DirectTV miniseries \u201cFull Circle,\u201d written by Neil LaBute. And musically, she is in the studio recording her second album with the award-winning producer Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When she isn\u2019t acting or singing, Keke believes in giving back. She is very involved with the Boys &amp; Girls Club of America, Saving Our Daughters, the YWCA, the Embrace Girls Foundation, and she is an ambassador for Robi Reid\u2019s AIDS awareness and prevention organization, the Reid for Hope Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here she talks about her latest outing as Rozonda \u201cChilli\u201d Thomas in \u201cCrazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story,\u201d a VH1 original movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kam Williams: Hi Keke, thanks for another interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Keke Palmer: No problem, Kam. Glad to be here!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: What interested you in \u201cCrazy Sexy Cool?\u201d Were you a fan of TLC as a kid?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: Being a fan is exactly what made me want to do this film. I wanted to be a part of telling the story of a favorite group of mine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: How did you prepare for the role? Is it hard to play a real-life person than a fictional character?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: I just watched a lot of old footage. I also spent a lot of time with Chilli and just observed her.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: Was Chilli present on the set making suggestions?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: Yes! She definitely let me do my thing, but she was always there for questions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: How would you describe TLC\u2019s legacy in one word?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: I don\u2019t think there\u2019s a word to describe it, really. They really inspired a generation of women to be confident go-getters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: What message do you think people will take away from \u201cCrazy Sexy Cool?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: You can do anything as long as you don\u2019t stop believing. When it is meant to be, it will be. You just have to follow your heart.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: Tell me a little about your new TV series, \u201cFull Circle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: It\u2019s a mini-series written by Neil LaBute about a bunch of different people who connect in some way in the last episode.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: What\u2019s your character Chan\u2019Dra like?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: She\u2019s a strong, young high school student who will stop at nothing to get what she feels is deserved for her brother.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: You\u2019ve been shooting a horror film set to be released next spring called \u201cAnimal.\u201d The picture sounds great, but please don\u2019t tell me you die first, like many a black character in scary movies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: [LOL] If I told you that answer, wrong or right, it would spoil the movie! I will say that we break some stereotypes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KW: Is there any question no one ever asks you, that you wish someone would?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KP: No, actually.
