Earlier today, I was filled with tremendous pride as my Brother Darryl Jones tagged me into a recent post about his dear mentor (and my Godmother), Dr. Eva C. Wanton, as brilliantly written by our niece (and her granddaughter), Taylore Maxey.
For the Hobbservation Point readers who knew my Godmother due to her roles as an educator and civic leader, I hope that this piece helps you to fondly reminisce!
For those who did not get to meet her prior to her untimely passing in 2014, I hope that this piece helps you to learn about a woman who was not just my mother’s best friend and Delta Sigma Theta Soror, but one who had a profound influence on my life as I soaked up so much wisdom listening to her and my mother talk on many a road trip as my God Sister, Dwanna Wanton, and I sat at rapt attention during our youth!
